Summer Equity Grant

Main content start

The Summer Equity Grant (SEG) provides support to students for living expenses not otherwise covered by their summer opportunity. Students interested in receiving funding from the Summer Equity Grant are required to pursue a public service, internship, fellowship, or research opportunity (excluding thesis research) during the summer.

Our hope is to provide the Summer Equity Grant for the 2023-2024 academic year. Please check in with us in mid to late April for an update! You can also check Handshake for any Stanford opportunities that might be available if you don’t currently have one lined up.

Stanford Summer Opportunities

Here are some campus partners with programs that could be supported with a Summer Equity Grant if they're unable to provide the funding needed to meet your living expenses for the duration of the program.

Funding is on a first come, first served basis, is not guaranteed, and grants will not be distributed until early June for anyone approved prior to that time. They will be distributed on a rolling basis thereafter until allocated funding has been reached.

Summer Equity Grant Application

Please only submit one application.

If we need additional documentation or have questions about the documentation you submitted, we will follow up with you after May 1.

To receive the fund disbursement, if approved for a Summer Equity Grant, students will need to complete a Canvas course about managing summer finances, made in partnership with Mind Over Money, which will take about 30-45 minutes to complete. The link to the course will be sent to all those approved for a Summer Equity Grant.
