Hey all! My name is Viv and I’m a part of Stanford’s Class of 2024. I intend to major in Symbolic Systems, with a concentration in Cognitive Science. I am passionate about anything that has to do with the brain, the mind, and computers! My biggest flex is probably my Spotify playlists lol. Been a fan of artists like Blxst, Joji, Kamaiyah, SZA, Khalid, and Tems for a while. I have a playlist for most vibes, whether it be country vibes, chill vibes, club vibes, r&b vibes—you name it. I almost forgot to mention that I’m a Libra and that I feel strongly about actively helping + advocating for marginalized communities.

The summer before freshman year, I participated in Leland Scholars Program (LSP) as a member of Cohort IX. Through LSP, I was able to find community, warmth, and resources for FLI students like myself. Having a completely remote frosh year and adjusting to sophomore year on-campus was challenging. Navigating Stanford itself was challenging; however, I was able to overcome the obstacles that I had faced through the support of the FLI Student Success Center. As a program coordinator, I want to pay what I’ve learned forward and provide resources, fun events, and community to other first generation and/or low-income students.
